Acceleration, top speed of the new Ninja 250R

This is one of the main things that we all are keen on knowing..
The old Ninja 250 / ZZR 250 was got for around 105mph / 168kmh on the speedometer with a 5.75 sec 0-60mph (or 0-96km/h) :: Not bad at all!

Here are some video links of the old ZZR250/Ninja 250, notice in one of the videos, the bike goes to almost 170km/h!!

Just talked to a Rep from Kawasaki... the 250r is officially being released in December. Keep up the good work with the blog!

Nice videos, but doesn't anyone notice that the speedometer is different in the movie than in the pictures, I doubt that's the same bike..

anyone got any real numbers yet for the performance?

So I managed to get my hands on a new showroom model. I took it out stock and it toped at 109mph. I am 6'6'' and 240lbs. No doubt that you little guys will take it up a notch or two. With a mod exhaust, carbs, and intake I will bet it could hit 115-120. 0-60 I was timed at 4.7, 5.1, and 4.9. All of which were hand timed.

wow that's actually a huge improvement over the last model. what was the final price out the door?

The one thing that was holding me back from the 250 for my first bike was the absolutely hideous hold-over 1988 styling, now with the new fresh look one will be mine this spring! :)

Whoever that last idjit was that complains about almost being knocked over by the White Honda Civic - If you drive like an idjit then expect to be knocked down loser - You want to race through a residential area at high speed and then bitch about a car that even signaled before making a lane change - If you cant keep your eyes open - then maybe you should stick to the speed limit. Wannabe biker.

^^ i dont think so.. and ur a moron.. why wuld someone email about it..

I don't think so either. No ones gonna email you idiot. The Suzuki Bandit is hideous.

The gsf400 is a kick ass bike in both styling and performance (for a 400). The bandit would completely dominate the new 250r, and if you dont agree, just look at the stats.

yeah- i guess it would outrun the ninja, since its a 400, 'tard. But not everyone who rides does it to race. plus, he's right- the bandit is fugly.

Why would you all pay 4800 out the door for a Ninja 250...when you can get a stock clean Suzuki SV650s with low miles for 3500???

Anonymous said...

people in the market for a 250 are wanting something small. if we were talking about a 650 then yea that might make more sense.

Anonymous said...

do they even make the bandit 400 anymore? or do you need to find a used one somewhere? sv650's are pretty sweet if you're looking for more power but you got a bigger heavier bike. Most people that get 250's must not be worried about power too much and are looking for a small like bike. Anyone see those naked ninja 250 concepts? awesome.

my God, i thought you were going to chip in with some decisive insght at the end there, not leave it with ‘we leave it to you to decide’.

that bike in the video can't be a ninja 250!! I have 2009 model and done 140km/h at 10000 rpm, and redlines about 13000. You can't shift that high you're already in 6th gear.

i have a hayabusa raced upz turbo charged monster havent ridden it yet only 17 been tuning it 4 2 years dosent sound like its true does it how fast do u reakon anybody

Dudes, some of those in the videos are ZZR 250's, you know, in Canada? The last one was a 2006 or 2007 when the redline read 13,000 rpm... I know the 13,000 rpm redline because I have an '07. Why they moved it to 13,000 in 2006 from 14,000 in 2005, I dunno, or to 14,000 before that from 15,000 rpm, dunno.

Anyway, If I wanted a 650 or 400 or whatever, I'd get one, but the 250 Ninja is just so lightweight it's unbelievealbe on backroads, even compared to 650's, which I have ridden on backroads...

r15 speedometer is not accurate. they indicate lots of error when exceeding speed more than 100kph. id saw one moded fz15(r15) speedometer indicates 180kph while my speed (zzr250) just indicates 140kph on the highway. so,,it is no crap. , my fellow mate does 220kph on his zzr250. (206.xx kph on gps)..@15000rpm!!unbelievable,but i saw myself!!

You guys are all laim pudding around in a little 250cc no self respecting girl would even want to ride on that piece! As a matter of fact no real rider would even be seen ridding one of those! Step It up!
